Blood in Michelin Stars

It’s been four months since the release of the 2016 Michelin guide, and with the release of the 50 best restaurants of the world a few days ago, there’s a person we cannot forget (just one name in hundreds)

Do you remember Benoit Violier?

He died exactly on the night before the 2016 Michelin guide was released. Once again the guide was haunted by his own arrogance. The cause was too clear, suicide, this was not the first and the story repeats over and over again.

The reason… everyone knows but no one cares, pressure, a work so demanding that few can handle, and despite some consider them like heroes or even gods, nothing good happens when an human is a suspect to such amount of pressure, few hours of sleep, extreme fatigue and few social life.

Remember Chef Benoit Violier, three stars Michelin, 44 years old. Dead by pressure.

Unfortunately despite a lot of efforts from a lot of organizations like Michelin guide we still hear a lot of histories of drugs, alcohol and dead in the food industry. We just can aspect that we as client respect more the industry and the work that people with true love for serving other do every day.
